Michelle Townsend Naturopath, Nutrionist & Herbalist
Michelle Townsend. ND, offers over 24 years clinical experience as a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist.
Michelle utilises tools such as iridology and a bio-resonance test to build the picture of your unique health profile, looking at your underlying weaknesses to help improve your overall health. Iridology includes a digital photograph to look at your iris in detail, while a bio-resonance is a non-invasive impedance machine that gives you over 40 pages of information about your different systems as well as your vitamin and mineral status.
Michelle can also draw on her experience with kinesiology, auriculotherapy and Bach flower therapy to help balance the energetics of your body when required.
Michelle’s main focus is to teach you about your own body and which lifestyle, dietary and exercise habits best suit you for optimal health and to help you maintain responsibility of your own health. When medical tests are required, these can be requested at an additional cost.
One of Michelle’s areas of expertise is in the field of genetic profiling. As a Fitgenes accredited practitioner, gene profiling offers personalised, targeted approaches to preventative health. Fitgenes is a world class Australian company that uses a comprehensive 58 gene profile, backed by well referenced scientific research. Their lab is the only TGA approved lab in Australia and has the highest level of accuracy.
In a profile we look at the genes responsible for regulating our body’s biological functions, or in other words our homeostasis. Learn how you can find out about which of your genes have variations that then act like a dimmer switch to either slow down or speed up certain processes in the body. This understanding of how genes influence our biological functions is now becoming medically accepted as the very beginning of disease and explains why some of us are more susceptible to certain disease over others.
A Naturopathic approach to your health enables Michelle to work with your individual needs for specific dietary and lifestyle advice to assist in the prevention of:
